General Information for Members

The Club office is open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The Club Manager is present during these hours.  If you need admittance to the Club at other times, you may make arrangements with the Club Manager. Also, the President, Vice Presidents and Treasurer have keys.

Applications for membership are available at the Club office or from the Membership Committee. Two members must sign the application as sponsors. Details about membership procedure appear in the By-Laws under Article III - Membership.  Information about dues appears under Article IV - Fiscal Year and Dues.

All members are encouraged to bring friends to the “Opening Coffee” so they can learn more about the Club.  Also see the Policies Section for additional guest information.

As of June 9, 2010, we are two separate legal parts - The Women’s Club, Inc., which owns the building and includes our membership, and the Women’s Club Foundation, Inc., whose purpose is to provide low-cost housing for women in our community and support other charitable events.

If you wish to make a bequest or donation and receive tax exempt status, forms are available at the Club office and one is included on page 78 of this handbook.  Or you can use the simple line, “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Women’s Club Foundation, Inc. of Hagerstown, Maryland the sum of $_____.”  Any undesignated contributions to The Women’s Club Foundation, Inc. will be deposited in The Women’s Club Foundation’s Endowment Fund.  If you are not interested in the tax exempt status, then gifts, memorial donations, and bequests may also be made out to The Women’s Club, Inc.

Although no Club activities are scheduled from December 24th through January 1st, the Club is available during that time if a member would like to schedule a private party.
