The Women's Club was founded in 1921, and is one of Hagerstown's landmarks. The Club is also listed on the national registry of historic places, recognized for its beauty and charm. The Women's Club offers facilities for your gracious entertaining, such as Wedding Receptions, Brunches, Tea and Dessert Card Parties, Luncheons, Dinners, and Holiday Entertaining. As stated in our by-laws, the Women's Club, Inc. is dedicated to promoting the welfare and education of women in Washington County. Activities are held to raise funds for various charities – including the Community Free Clinic, The Library, Children In Need, Hagerstown Day Nursery and others. The club also supports various other charities (such as Salvation Army, Community Rescue, Goodwill Industries, etc.) with monetary, food, clothing, other contributions and fund drive assistance.

The Women's Club's Foundation, Inc. contribution to the community is providing very low rent to women earning bare subsistence wages. The second floor provides 13 furnished rooms at rents ranging from $185.00 to $265.00 per month. The women have sinks in their rooms, and use of a kitchen. Two small efficiencies in the basement area rented at $265.00 per month each.

The Women's Club Foundation is the non profit, tax exempt arm of the Women's Club.
It was organized in 2010 after years of preparation for the purpose of promoting various charitable activities in Washington County, Maryland.
